As a textile researcher and shoe innovator, Suzanne focuses on combining knitting techniques, industrial production and digital design methods.

Within this project, Suzanne Oude Hengel is experimenting with processing her textile material and samples with the strobel machine. This machine stitches the upper directly to an insole, keeping the shoe flexible. A special addition in the Make Labs that few makers can normally work with. For Suzanne and the Shoe Quarter, this is a great opportunity to further explore existing textile experiments. This project is an example of working in a manual way with knitted and textile shoeuppers. Currently, opportunities for collaboration with the Textile Lab in Tilburg are being explored.

Suzanne works in the LABS on: Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29
