The shoe industry has become increasingly volatile with the advent of sneakers. Trends, a wide variety of materials and poor recyclability make the waste mountain ever larger. Time for a modular concept that allows local makers and users to customize and repair sneakers throughout their life cycle.
Michel Gallus works as a freelance shoe designer and wants to use the contribution from the Culture Fund to further develop his project HIDE. This focuses on prototyping, in which he focuses on the search for different making techniques and looseness. This quest will be on display in the Shoe Quarter from October through December.
