ARTIST IN RESIDENCE OPEN CALL
Artist in Residence - Sign up for creative research in the Shoe Lab
Grow your ideas in our shoe lab
The Shoe Quarter's Artist in Residence program gives artists, designers and makers the space to experiment and develop new work. As an Artist in Residence, you can take advantage of our high-quality machinery, wide materials library and the expertise of the museum team. It is a context in which research, experimentation and the development of new work are central. We encourage participants to explore crossovers between disciplines, materials and techniques.
What do we offer?
- Access to the Shoe Lab - A professionally equipped workshop with durable materials, advanced machinery and technical expertise. You have access to the workspace and can use the facilities if you wish.
- Guidance and network - Our team of practitioners, researchers and external experts will think with you. You can collaborate with other creators and build a network in the art and design world.
- Space for research and experimentation - The program provides time and quiet to deepen an artistic project, experiment with new materials or techniques and realize a tangible end result. We value proposals that take a fresh look at shoe design, craft and innovation.
Who can apply?
The program is open to both Dutch and international emerging artists, designers and makers. We welcome project proposals that combine artistic research with craftsmanship or technological innovation. There are no restrictions on genre, medium or subject as long as the project is in line with the vision of the Shoe Quarter.
