ACCESSIBILITY

The Shoe Quarter aims to provide maximum accessibility for all visitors.

  • The museum is located in a contemporary building and offers excellent handicap accessibility.
  • There are two wheelchairs in the museum (it is not possible to reserve them). Each floor is made accessible by an elevator.
  • For people who cannot visit the museum independently, it is possible to bring a companion at no cost. Dogs are not allowed in the museum, assistance dogs are of course allowed.
  • A disabled toilet is available.
  • We also have an area for baby care near the restrooms.
  • On the Winter Dyke, behind the Shoe Quarter, is a disabled parking space.
  • Unlike a cab, it is only possible to be dropped off in front of the Shoe Quarter with a permit. Until 12 noon, goods can be loaded and unloaded without a permit.

PLEASE NOTE: On Wednesday afternoons, a weekly market takes place in the square in front of the Shoe Quarter which reduces our visibility slightly. It is also not possible to be dropped off then.
