Presentation clog making with Nicole van Aarle
Nicole van Aarle is the fifth generation of the van Aarle's, and the first and only female clog maker. She grew up in a real clog-making family and learned the trade from her father. Nicole enjoys telling her story and keeping the craft alive by giving demonstrations "hand carving wooden shoes. In doing so, she continues a wonderful family tradition. In the Shoe Quarter she will demonstrate her knowledge on Thursday, August 8 and 15, from 1:30-15:00 pm.

If you prefer to get started yourself then follow Maxim Verheul's clog workshop. On August 8 and 24, from 10:30am-4pm, you will make a pair of clogs in your own size. At the end of the day you will go home with a unique pair. The workshop includes a pair of clogs (please let us know your size in advance) as well as materials.
