Our exhibition CUTTING EDGES will be on display for 9 days at Microlab Hall at Strijp S in Eindhoven, during Dutch Design Week (DDW). From October 21 to 29, 2023, the DDW will take place in Eindhoven. In the exhibition, Het Schoenenkwartier explores and pushes the boundaries of the contemporary shoe industry. New materials and techniques - such as 3D printing and the reuse of old sneakers - together with familiar techniques challenge the dynamics of this age-old industry. In our MAAKLAB, these new perspectives have been explored by 6 designers: Suzanne Oude Hengel, SKUA, PetersonStoop, Ruben Warnshuist, Tidhar Zagagi and Julien Chaintreau.
DDW is one of the largest design events in Europe presents work and ideas of over 2,600 designers to over 350,000 visitors from home and abroad at over 110 locations. DDW focuses on the design of the future and the future of design. The emphasis is on experimentation, innovation and crossovers with special attention to the work and development of young talent. This fits perfectly with the vision of Het Schoenenkwartier.
The Shoe Quarter pavilion can be visited during DDW at Strijp-S area, Microlab Hall, Kastanjelaan 400, Eindhoven.
