Work Session Lasting Leather Lab

The Shoe Quarter as a stage for circular innovation

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the Shoe Quarter, in collaboration with Material Sense LAB, provided a stage for an inspiring working session within the project Lasting Leather. This session took place in the context of the exhibition Sneaker Evolution, which focuses on material research and sustainability.

During this program, we engaged with a selected group of designers, researchers, teachers and specialists from the field about the footprint of shoe and leather production. Led by Simone de Waart (Material Sense LAB), we explored how to make production processes more sustainable, close chains and activate consumers and companies to change behavior.

With meetings like this, the Shoe Quarter wants to make visible that it is more than a museum: it is a workshop and networking place for professionals within the shoe and fashion industry. Here, research is shared, innovation is made visible, and we build a future-proof industry - together with the field.
