In honor of Shoe Quarter's 70th anniversary and Neskrid's 100th anniversary, the two companies have joined forces. Visitors to the museum can have a free foot and movement analysis and discover which soles they stand firmer on. The Neskrid 4Allbrands insoles are temporarily and exclusively available in the Shop of the Shoe Quarter at a discounted price and only available for purchase during the festive summer months. Moreover, if you, like the Schoenenkwartier, turn 70 this year and were born in Waalwijk then you will receive FREE admission in July and August. Furthermore, this summer there are festive (children's) workshops to follow such as decorating leather bracelets, bags ánd slippers, with inspiration from the fashion ensembles of LAURINDO LOVE on display in the Atrium.

70 years of Shoe Quarter
The history of the museum goes back to 1954. In that year, the "Ancient Museum for the Shoe and Leather Industry" was founded as a result of the successful exhibition SLEM (shoes, leather and fashion). Here, avid collector and teacher of shoemaking, Antoon Hendriks showed part of his personal collection which garnered the support of local shoe manufacturers in founding a museum. Today, the Shoe Quarter focuses on three pillars; the shoe lab, the knowledge center and the museum.

100 years of Neskrid
In 1924, an artisanal children's shoe workshop was established on Langstraat by Johannes Dirksen, under the name Neskrid. Later the range was expanded to include custom-made men's shoes, mules and sandals. From 1977 they began to focus entirely on the manufacture of professional footwear.
After the acquisition by Joost Pijnenburg in 2013, the company continued to specialize in the laws and regulations surrounding work and safety footwear in combination with orthopedic solutions. Anno 2024, Neskrid is known as the specialist in the field of multifunctional (semi-)orthopedic footwear solutions. In addition to (semi-)orthopedic work and safety footwear, the company offers certified (semi-)orthopedic insoles and walking shoes.
