Okke's Big Book Party in the Shoe Quarter with Paul van Loon - Oct. 16, 2025
Children's book author Paul van Loon, known for Dolfje Weerwolfje, is coming to the Schoenenkwartier. On Thursday, October 16, there will be a festive book launch and signing of his brand new book he wrote with Olaf Vugts: De avonturen van Okke de Spin in het Schoenenkwartier (The adventures of Okke the Spider in the Shoe Quarter). A magical and humorous story full of time travel, shoes and exciting encounters with mummies and werewolves, among others.

The first copies will be presented to two children who have a special connection to this book. The book is on sale in the museum store and you can have it signed by Paul van Loon. Afterwards, children can explore Okke's new hangout in the museum, do crafts, play, and scavenge for Okke the Spider's shoes throughout the museum.
