How special it was! We look back on Her Majesty Queen Máxima's working visit to the Shoe Quarter today.
Museum Director Rinske Jurgens welcomed Queen Máxima and Mayor Sacha Ausems with a special program. Queen Máxima was given a tour of our exhibitions by volunteers.
We are particularly proud that Queen Máxima paid a working visit to the Shoe Quarter on April 23. We showed our exhibitions and cooperation with education, presented emerging talent and offered innovative companies related to the shoe and leather industry in the De Langstraat region the opportunity to talk to her. Children displayed self-designed shoes on a special catwalk in the new exhibition "Put on your naughty shoes. The Queen also spoke with artisan shoemakers, designers and students, as well as with entrepreneurs from the region who are active in the leather and shoe industry or who have their origins in De Langstraat.
We were able to show her how we connect craft, design, innovation and entrepreneurship from the heart of De Langstraat.
Thank you to our many volunteers and cooperation partners Gemeente Waalwijk, Basisschool De Vrijhoeve,Maxim Verheul, Maiburg, Van Drunen schoenfabriek, Castelijn & Beerens, Maasleder, Jan Pulles Leather Company B.V., Covestro, Stahl, Nubikk, Neskrid and Gerla for your valuable contribution.
